Architectural Designer

Nikki Wilken is a rising star in architecture who earned her Master of Architecture and Design from Kansas State University in the spring of 2024. Her academic journey has been marked by excellence, having graduated first in her high school class and consistently maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout her graduate studies. During her time at university, Nikki actively participated in the First Generation Mentor and Peer Educator Programs and served on the Architecture Student Advisory Board (ASAB).
Her talents are both impressive and diverse, ranging from beautifully rendered hand sketches and detailed 3D modeling to leadership skills and fluency in Spanish. What truly sets her apart is her passion for positively impacting communities and individuals through architecture.
Nikki’s Mexican heritage—known for its vibrant art, music, cuisine, and tradition—inspires her to “create spaces that foster connection and love.” She believes the best projects marry aesthetic beauty with functionality while benefiting the community they serve. Nikki is a force of creativity, compassion, and dedication, poised to leave an indelible mark on both the field of architecture and the lives of those around her.
“As architects, our success is defined by the fulfillment we bring communities and individuals, not what we spent eight months modeling on the computer. I prioritize people because they are what truly matter in my life.”
Grew up in Ulysses, Kansas, population 5,770 (and probably knows everyone in town)
Her community held several fundraisers and her family held a large garage sale to help fund her study abroad experience. "Orvieto, Italy, is by far the best place I have ever been," she says.
If she had to pick one food to eat for the rest of her life…MAC & CHEESE
In high school she played Rapunzel in the musical "Into the Woods" (no surprise there, I mean, have you seen her hair?) She says, "I was horrible. HAHA!" (We find that hard to believe Nikki, nope, not buying it.)
Enjoys volleyball, plays Alto Saxophone, and unabashedly loves Harry Potter
