About the Project

The Cargill Learning Center is designed as an education center at Sedgwick County Zoo to inspire guests to want to conserve the wonders of nature. Architectural elements in the spiral-shaped building were used to create interest and change moods. One element is varying the depths of exterior roof overhangs to make lighting shifts throughout the year, especially dramatic at the summer and winter solstice.
