About the Project
WDM worked with the Arizona Center for Nature Conservation, or Phoenix Zoo Board and staff, to update the master plan for the Entry and Asian portions of the Zoo. Projects identified in the plan were the Entry Oasis, Administration Building, Isle of the Tiger, Neely Education and Events Center, Land of the Dragons (Komodo dragon exhibit), and People of the Forest (orangutan exhibit).
Key to the plan’s success has been the ongoing interaction and collaboration with all stakeholders. WDM Architects ensured that the expectations for the quality of guest experience, requirements for animal management, as well as schedule and budget parameters, were clearly defined and achieved.
Building on the successful implementation of this master plan and capital campaign, WDM is working on the next phase of master planning for a 20-acre area of the Zoo.
