About the Project

Naftzger Park’s outdated design was transformed into an inviting and usable public space. Set on Douglas Avenue at the intersection of Old Town and The Arena District, Naftzger Park engages the urban fabric as a social yard for downtown. Around the lawn along the street edges is a variety of seating which invites groups and individuals to slow down and enjoy the beauty of city life. Naftzger Park is a celebration of Wichita’s urban core and all of its people. The project was completed in partnership with SWA/Balsley.
