About the Project
The Carousel Building at the Henry Vilas Zoo offers year-round activity within the Children’s Zoo complex. Situated among trees and along the lakefront, the building houses a full-scale carousel surrounded by a large circulation and activity area. The space is conditioned, which allows the building to function through the colder months, but it can also be enjoyed during the spring and summer months by opening a series of exterior glass doors.
