About the Project
WDM worked with the El Paso Zoo on a master plan to guide development and reinvent many areas of the zoo. The plan gave careful consideration to attractions and amenities that would provide animal interaction and up-close animal experiences, which would increase attendance, stay-time and per-cap spending. It included a wildlife amphitheater, touch tank, treehouse playground, carousel, expanded sea lion show seating, event tent, and a Chihuahuan desert exhibit rich with cultural environments and naturalistic habitats.
The master plan was pivotal for the zoo to garner the necessary financial support through a public referendum. The zoo has successfully implemented a majority of the improvements.
