About the Project
The Asian Highlands exhibit created by WDM’s team of zoo architects is nestled into a forested hillside, creating an immersive experience for guests. The exhibit is home to snow leopard and Amur leopard species, as well as red panda and takin.
The exhibit offers multiple open mesh and glass viewing opportunities. This contributes to the interaction between the animals and the guests. In addition, there are overhead and at-grade animal crossings. This allows the cats to explore the habitats in numerous ways. The leopards have access to four habitats that can be joined or rotated by animal care staff. This promotes animal activity through variety and choice. On warmer days, cats and red pandas can relax in shaded caves cooled by chilled water.
