About the Project
WDM Architects worked with the Salvation Army to create a master plan for their 39-acre Hiawatha Campus. Once a recreation-based camp, the campus will change functions and serve not only group rentals but also living facilities and services for juveniles in the local court system.
Facilities were designed to follow the determined program requirements and fit into the camp-like atmosphere of the property. Improvements include upgraded utilities, a storage building, dormitories for girls and boys, family cabins, sports fields, a swimming pool and a multi-purpose recreation building.
The swimming pool was identified as a Phase One project, and WDM Architects performed design and construction documents. The project included a slide, sprayground, zero entry and pool house with restrooms and showers.
