WDM’s task was to take an occupied floor at Fidelity’s corporate headquarters and remodel it to accommodate open spaces for two different departments. Anticipating future needs and wanting to reduce landfill waste, demountable walls, system furniture and carpet tile were selected. Etched glass walls separate the perimeter offices from the center workstations and allow natural light to extend throughout the interior and adds to the overall design. A variety of direct and ambient lighting specified by WDM’s lighting designer enhances the aesthetics as well as aiding in the operating costs. WDM’s acoustical engineer conducted sound transmission tests on the wall systems to ensure privacy.
A successful outcome was achieved through the client’s steady vision and a good relationship between the architectural, interior design and construction teams.
